BOOKS READ 01: THE COLLECTED POETRY OF DOROTHY PARKER
Steve had came into Brigid’s with a whole bunch of books from his personal library. This is one of them. I was instantly drawn to the book’s small size, the cloth cover in a comforting shade of green. Opening the book, flipping the delicate, thin pages and glancing/spotting words that resonated with me, I was instantly drawn to this book.
“You’d like her, she’s bitter.”
Erm what are you implying Steve.
Dorothy Parker is slightly bitter, but you can tell she is in love with love, and even when her heart gets broken, she mopes about it, but she’s ready for the next time, vulnerable and as hopeful as ever.
And yes, I like that.
